About Us

ShoeTherapy is the result of a collaboration between renowned French orthopedist doctor Jean Douhaire and fashion stylist Cécile Reinaud.

Doctor Douhaire has spent his lifetime studying neurology, orthopedics and biodynamics and is famous amongst the medical community for curing the worst back and joint aches with his orthopedic sole. His reputation amongst patients suffering from backaches is such that he has a waiting list of over a year for his consultations. His soles are also widely used within the nursing community who have to stand up lot and have found huge relief from his footwear. He is also working with top sportsmen and women to improve their posture thus enabling them to maximize their performance. The French Olympic champion of Decathlon used Dr Douhaire soles at the last Peking Olympic and has sworn by them ever since.

Cécile’s goal is to create a shoe that looks as aesthetically pleasing, as it’s efficient to remedy back and joint problems as well as slow blood circulation which is one of the causes of and swollen legs and cellulite build up. Being a stylist she thought it essential that people would be happy to wear her line of shoes out and about. Unfortunately most shoes that offer benefits on posture don’t look good. Since ShoeTherapy's launch in January 2011 the brand has received rave reviews from the press and public alike (click here to read reviews).

After two years of product development ShoeTherapy is finally born and it’s first model is a ballet pump shoe, as this classic shape is perfect for day time wear and also the fashion essential of the moment. The shoe is designed for all women suffering from back and joint aches due to bad posture and that are looking for relief of swollen ankles and poor blood circulation. It's also the first corrective shoe recommended for women during pregnancy and has a worldwide patent for its unique technology.

"Being able to offer a fashionable looking shoe that has real health benefit is very exiting and I hope you will enjoy wearing them as much as I enjoyed developing this new venture. The creation of shoe therapy meant a lot for me, as I myself have experienced the discomfort of back ache and how incapacitating it can be." Cecile Reinaud
